Basic Math 2 Worksheets

Three printable worksheet generators for grades 4–6, each with an answer key.

Grades 4–6

What Basic Math 2 covers

Basic Math 2 moves beyond whole numbers to the three ways of writing parts of a whole: fractions, decimals and percentages. They describe the same idea in different forms (14\tfrac{1}{4}, 0.25 and 25% are the same amount), and fluency with all three is needed for ratios, algebra and everyday maths such as prices and discounts.

These topics are usually taught in grades 4–6, and the exact grade depends on the school and the province or state. Each worksheet is generated fresh every time, with settings for the operation and the size of the numbers.

Basic Math 2 topics

Recommended order

  1. Fractions — the foundation for the other two.
  2. Decimals — fractions with denominators of 10 and 100, written with a decimal point.
  3. Percentages — parts per hundred, using both fractions and decimals.

Within Fractions and Decimals, addition and subtraction usually come before multiplication and division. After this level, Pre-Algebra continues with integers, order of operations and ratios.

How to use these worksheets

  • Open a topic, choose the settings and the number of pages, then press Generate. Every press creates a new set of problems.
  • Printing adds an answer sheet on a separate page. The Set ID on the worksheet matches the answer sheet.
  • Each topic page also explains the method with worked examples, lists common mistakes and shows sample problems, so it can be used as a short lesson before the worksheet.
