What Algebra 2 covers
Algebra 2 builds on the linear equations and expression simplifying from Algebra 1. Students move from first-degree to second-degree expressions: multiplying and factoring polynomials, solving quadratic equations, and working with square roots and exponents. Systems of linear equations appear here too, because they combine equation solving with careful bookkeeping.
These topics are usually taught in grades 9–11, and the exact grade depends on the school and the province or state. Each worksheet generator has an Easy, a Medium and a Hard level, so the same topic can be used when it is first introduced and again for review before a test.
Algebra 2 topics
Recommended order
- Polynomial Multiplication — expanding products of binomials.
- Factoring Polynomials — the same skill in reverse.
- Quadratic Equations — factoring is the main tool for solving them.
- Systems of Equations — can be taught at any point; it only needs linear equations.
- Radical Expressions — simplifying and combining square roots.
- Exponential Equations — fractional answers connect back to roots.
Students who struggle with factoring usually need more practice multiplying first, so it is worth going back one step rather than repeating the harder worksheet.
How to use these worksheets
- Open a topic, choose a difficulty and the number of pages, then press Generate. Every press creates a new set of problems.
- Printing adds an answer sheet on a separate page. The Set ID on the worksheet matches the answer sheet.
- Each topic page also explains the method with worked examples, lists common mistakes and shows sample problems, so it can be used as a short lesson before the worksheet.
